Gooey-Good Tex Mex Chili Dip Recipe

Since the Fourth of July is all about celebrating our freedom and our nation, why not look to your own personal background for ideas? America is a melting pot, and that means your 4th of July appetizers can be likewise diversified.

This recipe is the perfect example: a Tex-Mex type fusion appetizer dip that everyone seems to love. This is one of those 4th of July appetizer recipes that will keep people coming back again and again.

Hint: use your crock pot to keep the dip warm!

Ingredients:
1 - 15 oz. can chili
1 - 8 oz. jar medium salsa
1 - 8 oz. jar taco sauce 2 chopped banana peppers or green chili peppers
1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper
2 pounds shredded cheese
chips

Directions:

Set your crock pot on low and give the interior a quick spray with cooking oil (this makes for much faster clean up later). Put all the ingredients into it and stir periodically until the cheese is mixed completely into the blend. This takes about four hours. Serve with lime tortilla chips.
